ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION
Don’t forget
our NEW Sunday morning activities are starting up soon! January 11 will
feature the first session of our Faith Formation Hour. Learning opportunities
for all ages begin at 9:45 and wrap up at 10:45. Kids will begin with
song and prayer at 9:45 – all ages are welcome, though!
The church
office will be closed on Thursday and Friday. Happy New Year!
A
NOTE FROM YOUR PASTOR
Our weekly communication
is back! The hope is to release these notes on a weekly basis, normally
on a Wednesday. Expect adjustments in format and timing, however.
Christmas
Eve worship was spectacular! The number of people who made it worshipful
makes it impossible to offer individual notes of gratitude, though thankfulness
abounds for all who contributed to the beauty of worship that evening.
The worship
service with the newest “feel” ended up being a wonderful
moment in time ? the 4 p.m. service will continue to thrive as the word
gets out that special attention is paid to how the “younger among
us” connect with the story on Christmas Eve. The more traditional
services were filled with gorgeous music and spirit, as well! We missed
you if you were out of town, but hope that you found a rich worship service
wherever you were celebrating.
May your
New Year be filled with constant awareness of God’s unstoppable
love, grace, and movement in your life...
-Pastor Lorin

Dear Friends,
If you were
in church this Sunday you heard that our friend, George Delany, passed
away suddenly on Friday. A funeral service celebrating his life will be
held tomorrow (Tuesday, the 23rd) here at Grace Lutheran Church and School.
10:00 a.m. is the time.
My apologies
for not getting this out sooner. I was not aware that the congregation
would have desired an email for this type of situation. To compound the
situation, the funeral directors did not get his obituary into the Houston
Chronicle or the Courier.
to read his obituary in Galveston County’s “The Daily News.”
Take Care,
Pr. Lorin
p.s. I have
heard that many of you are missing the weekly email updates. Be assured
that I intend to reinstate them soon!
