Greetings from the Director of Worship and
Music!
A member of Grace asked me recently, "Do you ever get tired of playing
music?" I had to admit that the answer was no, as it is something that
I truly love. As a child I started studying music like so many do, but
I was blessed with adults who fostered that gift during my formative years.
Especially important was the music director at my home congregation, who
even gave me my first organ lesson. Now that it is a few years later,
I am blessed to do something that I truly love, which is combining my
love for music and worship.
The psalmist writes, Sing to the Lord a new
song, for he has done marvelous things. Singing a new song may mean different
things to different people. It may be a song complete with keyboard, guitars,
and drums. For others, a new hymn by one of todays great hymn writers
could be just the ticket! Grace offers worship services on Sunday mornings
that feature both traditional and contemporary styles. Additional information
on the services at Grace can be found under Worship.
In addition, there are opportunities for music making! Please consider
participating in the Parish Choir, Laudate! Handbell Choir, Celebration
Singers, or Childrens Choir. There is more information on these groups in
the Ensembles section of this site.
If you would like more information, please call me at the church office
(936.588.1944) or e-mail me at pam@graceconroe.org.
Whether it is the old or new that you prefer, keep a song in your heart!
In Him,
Pamela Tamburello
