  Programs Offered

FULL DAYCARE – We offer extended hours of care from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. This care is paid at a weekly rate and is available on all but a few days (Christmas Day, New Years Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Good Friday and the last Friday before public school begins). Children enrolled in this program are automatically a part of the pre-school classes. Special activities are planned for these students during the morning and afternoon hours including; cooking experiences, crafts, story time, and physical education.

TADPOLES (18 MONTHS – 27 MONTHS) Children move from the individualized care of the infant room to the busy social setting provided by the Tadpole room. This step brings the child into a more structured environment in which “others” have influence and meaning. Children are involved in “circle time” where colors, sounds, letters, and songs are introduced. Meals are eaten in a group setting where table manners are taught and nap time is a corporate activity. Emphasis at this age is on following simple directions, group interaction and language development. Children this age are able to enjoy outside time twice daily on the playground or in the gym when the weather does not permit.

FROGS (27 MONTHS – 3 YEARS) Our Tadpoles flow naturally into our next program which continues to develop self control and social development with particular emphasis on potty training. Lesson plans in this room begin to utilize the ABeka curriculum for nursery ages where letters, numbers, shapes and colors are gradually introduced. Bathroom time is offered throughout the day with encouragement and reinforcement for steps taken towards the goal. We begin training only when a child shows interest and the parents are ready to reinforce the behaviors at home. The children in this class begin to attend chapel each morning with the older classrooms and learn “chapel manners” along with praise and worship songs and Bible stories. Outside time is provided twice a day for longer intervals on the playground or in the gym.

REDBIRDS AND BLUEBIRDS (3 YEARS) Due to the huge developmental differences demonstrated by children in this age group, our three year old program is divided into two classrooms with a teacher on each side and an aide that floats between. Both sides utilize the ABeka material for three year olds; however, as children move up from the Frogs program they are introduced to many new ideas and activities. Developing hand strength and coordination for scissors and pencil control, building increased self control and a longer attention span are part of the daily challenges to be mastered in these classes. Stories, poetry, and music will aid the development of comprehension, language, and thinking skills. Your child will also learn all the letters of the alphabet, recognize numbers 1-15, and count 1-30. Children at this age are also able to take part in our enrichment programs which are offered throughout the week by outside contractors and include; dance, piano, gymnastics, and computer. Outside time is provided twice a day.

BUSY BEES PRE-K (4 YEARS) Our Pre-K program begins to lay the phonics foundation established by the ABeka 4 year old curriculum. This material emphasizes mastery of the vowel sounds that are then built upon to form word families in the future. Many of our Pre-K children are reading single syllable words by mid-year. Number recognition, counting, and writing will grow through one hundred. Children in this classroom are capable of seat work, accomplishing classroom jobs, extended circle time activities, self directed center play, memorization of prayers and songs. We offer two field trips a year at this age level. Due to the challenging academic schedule of this program it is recommended that your child attend at least three days a week to keep up with the material.
